Dyspnea on exertion: Furst symptoms of heart failure include shortness of breath with activity and later shortness of breath while laying down or fluid retention. Arrhythmias and chest pain might develop. Meds like beta blockers (carvedilol in particular) and acei are important parts of treatment. If unable to tolerate acei/arb drugs, isosorbide along with Hydralazine might work.

CHF: Shortness of breath, leg swelling, fatigue are common. Both meds are good. You may want to talk with your doctor regards to "ace inhibitors and water pills. Depending on how bad your CHF is, these will add bebefit to meds you are already taking. If your ef is less than 35% , you may need a defibrillator.
