Not 100%: If the shoulder dystocia led to injuries to the baby or you had a really horrible tear and healing process, a c-section can be offered, but it's not 100% necessary. It will be offered: Since the recurrence rate of shoulder dystocia is relatively high and the consequences can be grave, a c-section should be offered or even highly recommended to you. You must weigh all options and make the best decision for you and your baby in conjunction with your doctor.
