Vaginal: The risks of complications from major abdominal surgery (c-section) increase with obesity. These include surgical complications, wound healing, infection, blood loss, blood clots (thrombosis), even death compared to a vaginal delivery.

Vaginal: Vaginal delivery is still considered to be the safest option for most mothers depending on the particulars of her pregnancy. Morbidly obese gravidas, for a number of reasons, have about a 30% chance of needing a cesarean section. The good news is that 70% will deliver successfully vaginally.
