BTB: If you have been taking the pill for more than 4 months and you have breakthrough bleeding for more than one cycle you should see your doctor for evaluation.

Break through bleed: Some women on birth control pills will bleed when they normally should not. This is called break through bleeding. It can occur when first starting the pill or if pills were missed or taken late. Usually if you continue taking the pill it will resolve. If not contact your doctor.
