Is it possible for someone to develop hyperthyroidism/graves disease after a vaginal hysterectomy, with ovaries intact ?

Anytime: Graves disease can occur in anyone at anytime. There is no way to link the onset to the hysterectomy.

Not likely: Graves disease is an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. Although female hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause can trigger autoimmune diseases, there is no direct relationship between the two. Unless the hysterectomy somehow triggered you to go into menopause, it should not be related. You will still need treatment for the hyperthyroidism regardless of what may have triggered it.

Yes but: Anyone can develop those disorders of the thyroid - with or without the ovaries and with or without any type of surgery. The surgery would not be related to the thyroid disease.
