Thoracic spine : You may be left with a bill that insurance won't pay. Only go to er for emergencies. The likeliness that an x-ray will show anything diagnostic (it's always a good start) is very low.

An X-ray will not : Reveal the status of the disc in trms of evaluating if tere is a herniation orvbulge but. Ct or MRI will. So don' t worry about speeding up the proces of obtaining an x-ray.
