Not really: If you can keep your tooth with a root canal and probably a crown afterward, do it. No other treatment at this point will be cheaper or better. You can have it extracted, but imo your tooth is almosts always a better option than an implant, a bridge, a removable partial denture, or a gap.

BIG PICTURE VIEW: If you have limited resources, spending a large portion of your dental budget to repair one tooth is not my recommendation. You need a dentist who will give you a comprehensive treatment plan--one that takes into account your dental, general and financial health, your overall needs and your life expectancy. "doing a root canal" is the beginning of a process--not the solution.

Long term goals!: Dr. Bobbitt gave you an excellent answer & a perspective well worth listening to. I suggest that you do these things. First, understand what got you in this predicament in the first place. Secondly, find out the best way to get you out of it in a reasonable fashion with your current resources. Then make a commitment to yourself to understand what you need to do to prevent further problems.
