Probable thrush: Sounds like a yeast infection especially if you have been on antibiotics or steroids for recent illnesses. Viral illnesses can also cause mild immune suppression making yeast more likely. Often respond to topical anti yeast medications such as my celeb or nystatin.

Sore tongue: If you have been ill with a viral inection, the sore tongue may be due to an outbreak of ulcers. If so, these are self-limiting and will disappear in 7-10 days. It would be a good idea to see a dentist just to be sure.
