Odontoid protuberanc: What is being described is excessive bone growth on the odontoid which is a bone unit at the top of the spine, at the base of the skull. If this extra bone is causing compression on the spinal cord then it might been to be removed. If there are no symptoms then one would just followed it with MRIs.
