Will a regimen of azithromycin and doxycycline treat chronic bacterial prostatitis on a par with cipro (ciprofloxacin) or levaquin?

Not necessarily.: Each antibiotic you mentioned has its own profile of bacteria that it is effective against. If your chronic prostatitis is caused by a bacteria that is resistant, treatment will fail. A culture of the bacteria, with antibiotic sensitivity data is therefore key to treating the infection. Before culture results are known, details of your history will guide antibiotic choice.
