Pain is most common: Pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis is most common and that often starts acutely. Some women can get shoulder pain or lightheadedness if the cyst has bled some. Some women will experience nausea or diarrhea, or pain getting worse when driving over a bump. An ultrasound can show a cyst in a ovary or free fluid in the pelvis. These often resolve on own, but some may require surgery.

Many: Symptoms of ruptured ovarian cysts are numerous and range anywhere from severe pain to no symptoms at all. Most commonly, women can experience pain on one or even both sides of their lower abdomen. Nausea, vomiting, bloating, irregular bleeding or spotting, and painful intercourse are just a few of the symptoms. You should see your doctor to confirm your suspicions.
