?? sample method ??: The diagnosis & treatment of uti's is best made with a culture from a properly obtained sample.A simple squat & pee sample is basically a vaginal wash out & DX based on a few white cells is not accurate. Some girls will have recurrent uti's based on an abnormality in the outflow tract or baldder & need a urologist evaluation.

Ultrasound needed: It is important to know whether your niece has had any studies of her urinary tract. It maybe that she has a congenital anomaly and therefore is having so many utis.

Pediatric UTIs: I would suggest a visit to a urologist. Recurring uti's in a five year old needs evaluation.
