A member asked:

Is this most likely related to the medial meniscus i had removed 30 years ago?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: When the meniscus tears, fragments of it can be trimmed so that the joint works better and is not as painful. If the entire meniscus was removed, it is likely that the joint will become arthritic over a period of 10-20 years. If only a part of the meniscus was removed, it is possible to re tear the remainder.
