Hernia repair immediately before pregnancy. i have a very small hernia just above my bellybutton. i believe my doctor calls it a ventral hernia?

Yes: Any hernia on the abdominal wall is technically a "ventral hernia", but then you can describe it further by type such as umbilical hernia or incisional hernia. Any hernia in the midline between the bellybutton and the ribs could be called an epigastric hernia. If you had a previous hernia repair at this location, then it is a recurrent hernia.
