Vitamin deficiency: Deficiencies of b vitamins can cause such symptoms. Try taking multi-vitamin tablets that you can purchase over the counter. If the symptoms do not subside in a couple of weeks of vitamin treatment, please see a doctor. Avoid alcohol and hot foods, liquid or solid.

Like with many other conditions, you need to rule out all other possibilities, and there are many. It's important to have your dentist rule out other conditions which have similar symptoms and might be dangerous. Get professional help.
