A member asked:

What do i do about my irregular period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See your doctor: At 47 yrs of age, the hormonal changes related to aging are frequently a cause of irregular periods and need to be investigated. A sonogram, labs and possibly a biopsy of the lining of the uterus may be needed. Fibroids can cause as well. Once dangerous causes are ruled out: tx options may include: a low dose ocp, cyclic progestin/ or Progesterone pills, or surgical tx's if you want to stop them.
