Yes: COPD can present clinically as chronic bronchitis or as emphysema. Essentially, emphysema is a manifestation of copd.

Category...: COPD is the broader category. Emphysema is a form of COPD as is chronic bronchitis. He may want to see a lung specialist for diagnosis and treatment, including smoking cessation, if needed. Treatment can decrease symptoms as well as slow disease progression.
