It is safe!: Good morning, it is safe to take antihistamines in the recommended doses. Non-sedating antihistamines such as claritin, (loratadine) and Allegra are preferable for daily use. Identifying the allergens and avoiding them will be a better strategy. If you are allergic to some food avoid them. If you are allergic to pets, do not have them in your house. In unavoidable situations antihistamine use is acceptable.
