Experts differ: Some authorities maintain that there are preganglionic sympathetic fibers in iii vii ix and x. Others will tell you this is a trick question and no cranial nerves carry sympathetic fibers. This is of limited applicability to clinical medicine and reflects arcana of neuroanatomy, a deep and amazing field. Good luck with your studies.
