A member asked:

Could a chronic cough (for over a year) lead to incontinence? if so, what can be done about this?

It may: You really need to get to the bottom of that cough and treat it and stop it. Ask your doctor for a prescription for urinary incontinence. As a last resort, surgery can also be performed to help.

Probably not: But the cough may be making you more aware of the incontinence. Coughing makes the pelvis relax for a lot of people. But the incontinence is probably there whether you're coughing or not. You should see a doctor about both of those problems. You should not ignore a cough for over a year.
