Sounds like a : 'side stitch'. Very common in athletes. Current thinking is that it's caused by a spasm of the diaphragm. When you notice it happening, try adjusting your posture & take some slow, deep breaths in thru nose, out thru mouth. This should help. More structured exercises like this are yoga & tai chi.
