A member asked:

Would birth control affect me from having babies after taking the pill for about five or six years?

Not really: Birth control pills do not have long term effects on fertility. No matter how long you used the pill, you menses/ovulation/fertility should return to normal within nor more than 3-6 months (max). If they dont, there may be something else going on that is unrelated (or was masked by) usage of the pill. Talk to your doctor! good luck!

No: Oral contraceptives do not cause infertility after they are discontinued. If one has infertility issues after discontinuation of birth control pills, infertility evaluation is recommended to search for possible cause of infertility.
