Not usually: Any medication misused, and any medication for some people, can be dangerous. But in general the medications used for ocd are quite safe. For example the so-called ssri's, also used for depression and anxiety have been prescribed for many millions of people (some argue over-prescribed) with a very low frequency of serious side effects.
