Iv been on venlafaxine for depresion but havnt been able to leave house even for work and iv lost my job, i don't even want to tell my doctor, ?

Why not?: Please tell your doctor. He or she can't help if he or she doesn't know what's going on with you. You might require a different medication, either in addition to Effexor (venlafaxine) or instead of it. You might also benefit from a program like a partial hospitalization, where you go on weekdays to a hospital during the day (for group meetings and support in setting and meeting goals, etc.)and go home at night.

Unfortunate: It is unfortunate, you lost the job because of depression. Depression can be treated. Many people are getting benefitted with the treatments available now. Ask yourprimary care physician to refer you to a psychiatrist. There are several other antidepressants available besides venlafaxine. In addition to medication you may need some counselling also.
