No real side: Effects you can get a flare and some soreness from the injection some people can be allergic to the non-synthetic versions such as synvisc (hylan g-f 20). They do help and do better in people with mild moderate arthritis. It doesn't reverse DJD but it does prevent it from accelerating. Arthritis can cause a clunk. I would see an ortho doc and have them go through your options.
