Many possible ways: Clogged heart arteries may be associated with hardening of the vessels in the brain because these 2 conditions have many of the same risk factors (diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, etc). A clot in the heart may travel in the bloodstream and cause a stroke in the brain. It the heart clot affects the heart's ability to pump blood efficiently to brain, other problems due to that may also occur.
