Likely fine: The baby is well protected in the event of a car accident, by the abdominal wall, the uterine wall and the fluid. Also the ability to feel fetal movements is most reliable starting 18-22 weeks. Check with your doctor again if you are still concerned.

See your OB/GYN: You should see your ob/gyn who can check the baby and make sure everything is okay. They can check the baby's heart rate and consider an ultrasound if necessary.
