Absolutely: Excellent treatment is not "gadget" related. Sometimes early interceptive orthodontic treatment can shorten or simplify later care. Make sure you see a qualified orthodontic specialist, and feel confident that the orthodontist has your child's best interest at heart.

Yes: Some minor issues, like crossbites, need to be fixed or improved early because they are often more challenging to fix later. This early or interceptive treatment can sometimes be done with braces assuming that the child will brush effectively. Sometimes removable retainer like appliances can be used, assuming the child will wear them and not lose them.
