I burned myself and the pain is nowhere near gone. it doesn't look too bad but it hurts like crazy?

Evaluation: Burns can be extremely painful. Especially 1st and 2nd degree burns. 3rd degree burns have little or no pain as all layers of the skin have been damaged with destruction of the superficial nerves. Pain post burn can be related to the heat trauma early on, but can be related to supra-infection of the burn site in later stages of the burn. If the burn is significant, physician review is a must.
