Depends: Avelox is an excellent antibiotic to treat sinus infections. In case someone develops recurrent infections, it may be chosen as first line. If someone does not get sinus infections regularly, i would start with something else. But it also depends on the individuals' previous drug allergies/reactions. This is a complex decision to make.

ItCanBe In someCases: Most Sinus infections are caused by viruses.If your doctor suspects it is caused by Bateria with purulent nasal discharge with foul smell with or without temperature Avelox may be a good choice
