No consensus but...: There is absolutely no consensus on this. One thing i can say is there is no need to eat any at all. Vegetarians & vegans would say none & a large body of evidence points to reduced risk of heart disease & cancer & longer life in those who are vegetarian. If you do eat beef i advise only grass-fed meat. Beef fed gmo-corn & given hormones/antibiotics is very unhealthy to eat! see my comment:.
