See below: Varicella zoster is reactivation of the chicken pox virus that has been latent in your body since you had the disease as a child. It can happen at any age although it is more common the older you get. It can occur early if you have a condition that impairs your immunity but it can also occur without any apparent cause. It should be treated with acyclovir, valacyclovir or famvir (famciclovir). Good luck.
