Yes: Vitamin d3 at 2, 000 units is a common dose. If you have vitamin d deficiency, you may need higher doses at first and then later the aforementioned maintenance dose. Either way, vitamin d is safe and important for patients with ms.

Good question: Vitamin d is very important in ms and indeed those with higher levels do substantially better. Most of my pts take 5000-10000 units of d-3 daily, in divided doses, and we aim for oh-vit d-3 levels of approximately 50-60. It is in addition to baseline disease meds.
