Thigh blood pressure: Thigh blood pressure readings without comparable upper arm readings are hard to interpret. Usually, systolic blood pressure in the legs is 10% to 20% higher than arm blood pressure readings. Blood pressure readings that are lower in the legs as compared with the upper arms are considered abnormal and often lead to consideration of peripheral vascular disease.
