Yes: First i would consult with your surgeon. He should have provided you with activity instructions during your follow up visits. Every surgeon has different recommendations depending upon experience and how the fixed the hernia. In general, i limit lifting for two weeks after surgery then ask the patients to ease back into their normal activities.

Yes: Rather than a specific time frame, i tell patients to return to normal activity as tolerated after inguinal hernia operations. You may have something more specific, so it is always a good idea to check with your surgeon.
