How long will hearing loss last after an ear infection?

Two to three months: When you have a middle ear infection there is fluid accumulated in midle ear due to dysfunction of the eustaquian tube. Even with the fever and symptoms of acute infection( fever, pain) the fluids remains there for two to three months .During that time there can be some compromise to hearing due to blockade of the transmission of the sound waves to the inner ear and to the brain.
