Take a test: You should take a home pregnancy test. Pregnancy is unlikely but not impossible. Whether the test is positive or negative, if you are having abnormal bleeding, call your doctor.

Pregnancy test: Do a pregnancy test now and another one a week later, just to be sure. However the failure rate of essure is very low, particularly if tubal occlusion was confirmed by a procedure called hysterosalpingogram, that should always be done 3 month after the placement of the essure devices.
