Who is capable of administering psychiatric medication other than a psychiatrist?

Primary care: Many docs prescribe common psychiatric meds & pts usually do ok--psychiatrists usually see the tougher cases who've already been tried on meds but aren't responding optimally.

Psych MEds: I would only trust a psychiatrist for psych meds, pcp, pediatricians may prescribe also psych nps and psych pas under supervision may also prescribe.

Other MDs: As well as nurse practitioners and physician's assistants (pas).
