What helps...: ...Is facing ur fear & desensitizing urself to it. Knowing odds isn't likely to help much as the brain regions generating the kind of fear u describe aren't easily soothed by logic/reason. U'll benefit far more from facing ur fear in progressive stages...At each stage letting ur level of distress climb until it starts to fall & then drop to a low level. Get help from a clinical psychologist!
