Copper T-coil: Anecdotally, periods are heavier and longer, there is more pain and discharge, and intercourse can be painful. Ordinary otc menstrual pain meds can soften the pain, but if you are prone to the other symptoms described, there isn't too much that one can do, if your choice is a copper iud. Consult your gynecologist, who knows you better and may be able to address some of the symptoms.
