Two biggies maybe: Worst case scenario is that you could be pregnant and are having a miscarriage. The most likely reason is that you have had a change to your periods because you are in your 40s now. You may have irregularity to amount, frequency, and duration of your periods as you approach menopause. Some women see this process play out for years, and some start much earlier than the usual 50 years old.
