Yes: Many digestive issues are due to gluten intolerance or intolerance of dairy, some grains or refined starch. The paleo diet is free of processed food, dairy and wheat as well as most starch so it does help with majority of common digestive problems such as leaky gut, celiac, etc as well as weight loss.

Often yes: IBS, particularily diarrhea predominant type, responds remarkably well to a 30-60 day trial of gluten and high fructose corn syrup free dietary approach. Some people will also benefit from a lactose free trial.
