DDS\MD consults: There are many causes of bad breath. It could be dental or medical (or both) in origin. When was the last time you had check-ups at your dentist and physician? I think both are in order to determine the cause of your problem. It could be cavities, gum problems, GI problems, or a host of other things. Go betond teeth: Our breath is influenced by factors beyond the teeth. When you brush your teeth, also brush the top of your tongue. Go as far back as you can with the brush. When it starts to gag you, breathe deeply through your nose. Also, gargle with hot salt water and peroxide...Add some mouthwash to improve the flavor. You might also add half of a teaspoon of laundry bleach to hot water-then gargle and spit.

Possible GI problem: If you have seen your dentist and he or she has cleared you from any oral conditions. I would recommend you visit you primary care physician for a referral to GI specialist.
