What does bilirubin moderately hemolyzed mean?

Specimen problem: The red blood cells in the blood sample were damaged during drawing or on the way to the lab. This can make some of the lab determinations more or less invalid. Your physician knows how to interpret this and whether to retest you. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and wish you luck with your lab work.

36yr old husband is excessively sleepy all the time. Blood work was normal except bilirubin was a 2 but doctor said it was hemolyzed and was not worried. Hubby says he feels better( less sleepy) on weekends when not at work. he sleeps 8 hrs a night.
Lab tests were normal including LFT. Bilirubin was slightly elevated at 1.5. During the first blood draw, sample was hemolyzed. I got a large bruise across middle arm. I had to return the following day to repeat. Could the bruise cause the elevation?
