You probably: Need to get seen. When you finall have a "productive cough" it sounds like bronchitis, but it also sounds like you have post nasal drip, pharyngitis or even esophageal reflux. Nasal steroids are good in that post nasal drip b/c antiinflammatory if used at night. U eed a rx, get the generic flonase, it's my favorite. Some depends on other history but, especially if fever and chills u need attn.

Cough: This reflex is stimulated by some inflammation or physical stimulus emanating either from the respiratory tract or the nervous system. Often the stimulus is material accumulating in the tracheo-bronchial tree which needs to be cleared out and the cough does this. You need to see a doctor to find out what is producing this stimulus.
