Probably not : Because it is metal on metal. Usually due to something else such as loosening, inflammation or infection. Any hip replacement can have pain. If you are having pain, obviously it depends where it is in your hip. If it is in the groin or mid-femur it is probably because of the prothesis anywhere else probably less serious.

Possible: Some patients experience a local tissue reactionto the metal on metal implant not seen with other implant combinations. Other patients can have pain due to metal debri esp. If there is damage to the polished surface. All hip replacemens can hurt from loosening, infection and stress reactions to name a few.
