Small Risk: There are small risks with everything. Remember, the #1 risk of being alive is dying one day. It will happen eventually. Lupus from Aldara (imiquimod) is incredibly uncommon. If you are very worried, you could seek other treatments for warts like cryotherapy or other types of destruction.

Minimal: This complication has not been reported in any of the controlled studies of aldara (imiquimod). Drug induced lupus may occur with as many as 60 some odd compounds used, but almost always responds to withdrawal of the medication. This is a very safe therapy in general.
