A member asked:

Does wearing pantyliners cause or prevent infections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neither: Pantyliners may diminish the amount of moisture accumulating in the perineum (the area of the labia and vaginal opening), and by doing so, diminish the irritation to the soft tissues, thus minimizing the chances of infection, but this is theoretical. They certainly do not cause infections.
