Rule out diabetes: Please have a fasting serum glucose checked. Diabetes can present as significant weight loss accompanied by polydipsia ( increased thirst), polyphagia ( increase in eating) and polyuria (increased urination). The smell of urine fruity makes me suspicious that it can be diabetes related.
