Steroid shot given for strep throat how long does it stay in body?

Generally 1-3 days: Depending on the amount of steroid injected, generally a depot shot is meant to have effect for around 3 days. Generally we don't do steroid shots for strep throat. There must be a lot of swelling, and the implication is that the shot shrinks the swelling a bit until antibiotics has a chance to reduce the infection.
